Brooks McDowell is PWH's Emerson Award Nominee

We are happy to share that Brooks McDowell is this year's nominee from Pontiac William Holliday for the Emerson Excellence in Teaching Award. Brooks was nominated by his colleagues who shared many positive things about him, but most notably was the relationships he builds with students and their families.

Brooks has been with the District for over 5 years as a physical education and health teacher.  He also coaches multiple sports, both boys and girls. He has facilitated the county-wide physical education group during the county institute and worked to refine curriculum for physical education and health.

Goals are a top priority for Brooks.  He encourages students to set goals and celebrate when they have accomplished them.  He also has been a positive role model in regards to community service, taking the students to rake lawns throughout the neighborhood.

Brooks is passionate about education, athletics, and our District.  He continues to follow "our" students and makes sure to continue encouraging them to be the best version of themselves.

Thanks Brooks for being a part of District 105!  Congratulations on the recognition!
